Waiting for stars

Supposed to be a meteor shower early this morning, so I got up to see what I could see. But alas, there were clouds just in the area where they could be seen. This morning would have been perfect to see Perseids or Geminids but not Quadrantids !!! Sigh

Anyway, I was up so why not do something. I have a big mounted canvas board ( 30 x 50cm).... ok its not That large..... So I took some henna and gave it a try. Came out pretty good, except that henna is unforgiving on blank paper. Once its down, its down, nothing you can do about it. Came out pretty good. A little lopsided. How that happened? I have no clue. LOL

Next is a first piece of abstract I can really say I've done. A little backstory. When you close your eyes you can 'see' residual images either from your retina having been burnt a little, or your optic nerve still sending information to your brain. Usually I have pretty normal ( for me) images I see. But about a month ago I started seeing this ( below) . Very new and very weird. The only time I see it, is when I cam completely relaxed and maybe listening to X-ray dog ( LOL). I tried to get it down, its only after I realized it was more green and purple than just purple. The image rotates and pulsates, such that the larger section shrinks to a line and a line swells out to the shape of the bottom arm.

I call it Extinction
Might I add that its my FIRST full pastel piece..... now i realise I should have used a different medium to draw on. Learning curve, its going to be steep and FAST. :-D
